Buckskin A Buckskin Color can occur in any number of different breeds, though at least one parent must be from a breed that carries the dilution gene, and not all breeds do. Buckskin is created by the same dilution that makes palomino-- only buckskin is cream acting on a bay base, and palomino is cream acting on a chestnut base.
Buckskin horses have always been considered flashy and showy colored
horses for showing, yet thought to be tough and hardy by the cowboys. |
