Classic Champagne
Champagne Horse Color
Classic Champagne is a flashy shade of deep dove grey with darker points that are different shade of the same color the body is. It is the rarest, and may considered the most exotic, of the Champagne colors. It is rare because it is the result of the champagne gene acting on a solid black base coat.

Classic Champagne is considered difficult to photograph accurately, and has been described as "lilac"; in fact, this is one color that has been called "lilac dun" in the past.

Grullo Horses are sometimes confused with Classic Champagne, and the shades of Amber and Classic can often be very close. One way to tell the difference is that the point color on the Classic is a different shade of the same color as the body, while the point colors of an Amber are usually a different color from the body (brown as opposed to a golden tinge).
