- Breaststrap Design – this design is ideal to be used in some light works just like some horse show competitions and this specifically made to pull only some light carts. It can be also used for light hauling as it puts the weight of its carrier on the area of the sternum of the horse and to the close windpipe. It is commonly described to be a padded strap that is positioned around the chest of the horse from side to another side.
- Collar Design – this is different from the other design as it totally puts the weight of the carrier to the shoulder of the horse, without any problem of the horse not getting enough air supply. If you are going to do a heavy hauling, it is best to use a harness that has a horse collar in order for the horse to use up his full strength and weight.
